Met up with Meri & Jani in Nuwara Eliya and did some more hiking. Food has never tasted so good. We met some nice families and were invited in for tea with one family. The little father of the family was blown away as meri introduced him to the i-phone, flicking through each of her 500 mostly in-appropriate photos the little man chuckled with squinty eyes as his wife wizzed around the kitchen preparing tea.

HIKING AROUND KANDY. . . DAY 2 . . . SRI LANKA
The previous day I met this local man Ravi who was taking 5 Swedish girls on a guided trek through the mountainous highlands surrounding Kandy in central Sri Lanka. I joined the girls and Ravi for the rest of their walk after a quick dip in a waterfall and Ravi insisted that I come back the next day to go for a hike with him up deep into the knuckles mountains. I met him at his house at 8 in the morning for some chai and bananas for breakfast, his house immaculately clean decorated with a variety of Hindu decorations. We had a long steep hike which was about 4 hours roundtrip. We drank fresh water from running streams, Ravi taught me how to sharpen a machete in the bush using some sandstone and a tree root and we chowed down on a mean egg curry when we returned to his humble home.
